Miles, Qld
After hunting around trying to find a body of water, we decided to check on a previous location. Much to our surprise we discovered that it was mostly dried up, since we haven’t had rain in a long time.
We were unable to find any good composition with water in the foreground and were about to call it a night and go home, when we discovered rows of dead trees in what looked like a dry baron wasteland.
We opted for a vertical panorama to get a wide shot but also the galactic centre, which was already higher than we had planned it to be.
Using a Nikon Speedlight we light painted the foreground on the lower image and worked our way up.
