Right place, right time!
Not something that happens often, but this time it definitely paid off.
Sun Halos occur when ice crystals are suspended in the atmosphere and cause light to bounce around creating colour and different types of rings.
Pretty cool sky for a drone image, even though it was a bit of a mission to shoot effectively and edit!
To shoot this portrait image I used the DJI Air 2S’s feature to point the camera upwards for the first time ever, to be able to point high enough in the sky to get the full Sun Halo.
I then shot a bunch of landscape images from the highest point to the lowest point with the intention of creating a vertical panorama.
After a heap of selective masking this is the end result!
