The moonrise during a night out shooting astro is usually not a great thing, it marks the end of shooting astro from the bright light reflecting off the moon.

Instead of packing up and leaving we watched it rise over the ocean and were impressed with how cool it looked.

Shot a few images, exposing for highlights while still trying to get the last glimpse of stars, but basically wrote it off at the time.

Revisiting the image, with that same memory of how cool it was to see, I had an urge to try and share that moment we experienced.

It’s certainly not perfect, by any means, but moments enjoyed are worth sharing regardless.
