You know you have a passion for Photography when after a whole day of working with a camera, you still can’t help but go chasing colour!
I’m still no weatherman, but I feel like with every shoot you gain more of an understanding of what light the clouds will help produce.
I had a good feeling about the cloud cover and despite shooting all day, I knew it was now or never to get a shot I’ve been imagining since moving to Bundaberg.
After doing a couple of laps around the Hummock I finally found a road that seemed like it could work, I found this one field that was running the direction I needed. Unfortunately it wasn’t the perfect clean rows of short crops I was hoping for, but the colour was already starting.
With no time to waste, I quickly grabbed my tripod and setup the camera into a composition I was happy with and began shooting.
It was getting quite dark, but the colours were still happening. Which allowed for the lights on the Hummock to start appearing along with the coloured sky.
I happened to have a screw on ND500 that was enough to slow the exposure while letting light in at f5 and keeping the image as sharp as possible.
